DEAR MASTER. An exploration of the sensuality of flesh and the feeling of ecstasy. The underlying theme is a strong sense of sexual escape and freedom, a release from the world and body. Within the naiveté of a classical figure the raw emotion that evolves around it, its chaotic entropy, is exposed. The objective is to evoke an impulsiveness and rawness rather than an over-structured work. The initial energy of the sketch is preserved through the use of pencil - heavily pencil drawn figures are encapsulated with paint giving an important link to the first quick sketches. The paintings are large and surround you, inviting you to participate in the sensual closeness and tension, in an almost claustrophobic feeling.
